“I love River Street!”
By Sally P
River Street is THE place to see in Savannah. Less crowded during the week. If you go you must stop for Pralines at River Street Sweets. See the tug boats and The Waving Girl Statue. The restaurants are wonderful and plenty of bars to cool off in.
“Great for an after dinner walk”
bwco Morris County, NJ
My wife and I took a walk here one Saturday night after dinner and loved it. First of all we felt very safe, second the area was very vibrant with most shops and businesses being open. There was a nice mixture of college kids and tourists there.

You will be able to pick up your neat gifts for friends back home down on River St. There are a bunch of restaurants to choose from whether you want fancy seafood to raw oysters or even awesome bar food!
The candy shops are great because they give you a free taste of Savannah’s famous butter pecans which melt in your mouth.
During the summer weekends, there is a market set up on the street where you can purchase local artists’ goods.
The night life is great too with bars and clubs every few feet!
Wet Willies is the neatest idea for a bar I’ve seen! Check it out!
“Favorite Part of the City”

We visited this area during the daytime. We loved the shops and restaurants. Someone told us that this is where the ships used to come in and load the cotton from the warehouses.
If you’re a shutter bug, you’ll love this area. Lots of history in the streets, walls, everywhere.
