EXPERIENCE SAVANNAH FROM A DIFFERENT POINT OF VIEW:
The Savannah River is one of historic Savannah’s most enthralling thoroughfares… a highway for a colorful mix of tour boats, yachts, tugs and ocean-going vessels. The Savannah Belles Ferry system is the newest member of the Savannah maritime family. The ferry system offers a unique alternative to the Tallmadge Bride as a link between Savannah and Hutchinson Island, site of the 330,000 square feet Savannah International Trade & Convention Center. With connections to the free downtown CAT Shuttle, which serves the Historic District’s major hotels and other notable sites, the ferry fleet provides stable, breathtaking passage shore-to-shore and is now an integral element of Savannah’s public transportation system.
MEET THE BELLES:
The Savannah Belles Ferry fleet includes two very distinct vessels; each named for noteworthy women of Savannah’s history. The first vessel is the Juliette Gordon Low, named for the founder of the Girl Scouts of America. The second vessel is the Susie King Taylor, named for a freed slave woman and Civil war nurse who opened one of Savannah’s first schools for African-American children.
SEAMLESS WATER AND GROUND TRANSPORTATION :
With the addition of the Savannah Belles Ferry system, CAT now provides a transportation option to Hutchinson Island, home of the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center and the Westin Savannah Harbor Resort & Spa.
